Hi Gary,

Many thanks for reading and for adding your thoughts. I welcome dissent.

In response, I would repeat--and, again, this is simply *my* view of what I think Ken Burns' work is all about--that this, like all his films, is not about giving us every bit of detail about the parks. He's using the parks as a topical framework to discuss broader social and historical issues. I think so far it's off to a very good start.

Others, of course, are welcome to hold other view points about Ken Burns's approach, and / or to not so much like what he does or how he does it.

Cheers,
Dave

I have been very disappointed in first two episodes. They have been more about John Muir and Teddy roosevelt than the Parks themselves. I would like to have seen more on the beauty of the Parks and less on the History that brought them about. My wife on the other hand enjoys this kind of personal History about the men.

Love your science "stuff" over at Tonic.

Miss your funny musings - a poem about scratching comes to mind.;)

But I totally understand the time thing and educating others on what is needed to make the world a better place takes a higher priority than scratching poems.

As long as you're writing and you're happy that's all that matters.

Dave! It's your long lost friend Ginny, aka the Queen! I think of you often, often, often! I thought to google you this evening and stumbled across your awesome blog. I've been in touch of late with the Arkansas contingent Noel, Chaddie and Karen, all via Facebook. So glad to read that you are doing so well in such a cool place, with a creative outlet like this. More on me soon -- email me your email address! Lots of love sent via the winds...

Very cool. To my ear it sounds a little like Elenore Rigby and the Triplets of Belleville mashed up by Tangerine Dream(?).

Anyhoo, nice work.
